Feel Most Alive Card (Rose Hill Card Kits To Go – July 2021)

This is my card from July 2021 Rose Hill Card Kits To Go.  This under the sea scene was fairly easy to make by stamping a large background stamp on printed paper and adding a shimmery seahorse.

Materials (front)
Unless otherwise indicated, all materials listed are Stampin’ Up! products
** Island Indigo card stock – 8-1/2” x 5-1/2”, scored at 4-1/4", plus scrap for die
* White card stock – 5-1/4” x 4”
* Marbled-Blue paper by the Paper Studio – 5-1/8” x 3-7/8”
* Bermuda Bay card stock – scrap for die
* Vellum card stock – scrap for sentiment
* Soft Succulent Shimmer Vellum – scrap for seahorse
* Zen Waves stamp by Technique Junkies - background
* Feel Most Alive stamp by Technique Junkies - sentiment
* Black Ink Pad
* Clear Embossing Powder and Heat Tool
* Sea Life dies (seahorse)
* Layering Diorama dies (layers behind sentiment)
* Gold Wink of Stella and POSCA white paint marker (starfish)
** Gold Glitter Enamel Dots

Materials (inside)
* Bermuda Bay card stock - 5-1/4” x 4”
* Pale Papaya Shimmer Vellum – scraps for fish
* Evening Evergreen Shimmer Vellum – scrap for plant
* Sea Life dies (fish)
** Under the Sea Framelits dies (plant)
(** Retired)

Assembly
1.  Fold 8-1/2" x 5-1/2" Island Indigo card stock at score line to create card base.
2.  Adhere 5-1/4” x 4” white card stock to front.
3.  Use black ink to stamp Zen Waves background stamp onto 5-1/8" x 3-7/8" patterned paper; adhere over white card stock.
4.  Cut seahorse from Soft Succulent Shimmer Paper; use liquid glue to adhere seahorse as shown.
5.  Sentiment:
    * Cut two smallest shapes from Layering Diorama dies: the smallest shape from Bermuda Bay card stock; the larger one from Island Indigo card stock.  Adhere smaller shape over larger shape.
    * Use black ink to stamp sentiment on Vellum card stock; heat emboss with clear embossing powder.  Sponge liquid glue onto back of Vellum card stock and adhere over Layering Diorama shapes.
    * Use foam tape or hexagons to pop up sentiment, overlapping seahorse as shown.
6.  Add self-adhesive gems (the smallest is the eye of the seahorse; the other two are placed randomly).
7.  OPTIONAL:  To make starfish stand out, color with something shiny or glimmery (sample uses gold Wink of Stella).

Inside
8.   Adhere 5-1/4" x 4" Bermuda Bay card stock to inside of card.
9.   Adhere 5-1/8” x 3-7/8” white card stock over Bermuda Bay.
10. Cut fish from Pale Papaya Shimmer Paper; cut plant from Evening Evergreen Shimmer Paper.  Use liquid glue to adhere as shown.

Happy Independence Day!

Hope you're enjoying your 4th of July holiday weekend!  Thought this would be a great time to share a card recently made for one of my stamp camps.  The card is really simple to make -- everything is just stamped and layered up!  Materials used for this card are listed below.

Materials:
* Night of Navy card stock (Stampin' Up!): 8-1/2” x 5-1/2”, scored at 4-1/4”
* Real Red card stock (Stampin' Up!): 5-1/4” x 4” (2 pcs - one for inside); 2-1/2” square
* White card stock (Hammermill 100#): 5-1/8” x 3-7/8” (2 pcs - one for inside); 2-1/4” square
* Night of Navy and Real Red Classic Stampin’ Pads (Stampin' Up!)
* "Grunge Flag" and "Home of the Brave" stamps (Technique Junkies)

The sentiment is adhered to the Real Red card stock, and then popped up with foam tape; other than that everything is adhered with regular adhesive.

The inside of this card is blank -- just a 5-1/4" x 4" layer of Real Red card stock and a 5-1/8" x 3-7/8" layer of white card stock.

Thanks to the Technique Junkies Design Team for the inspiration!

Hope you enjoy this card!

"a little note" (WC Session 4, Week 2 - March 11, 2021)

This great fun fold card was made in our Women's Connection class on March 11, 2021.  More recently, I made this card for a "fun fold themed" Stamp Camp North using different colors (see photo below).

Many thanks to Bonnie O’Neill (www.bonniestamped.com) for posting this basic card design.

    - 2” x 2” for Medium Daisy punch
* Wink of Stella to paint center of daisy

Stamp Camp North Version

For the Stamp Camp North card, all materials are the same, except Rococo Rose card stock was used in place of Bermuda Bay, and Blushing Bride card stock was used in place of Pool Party.  Also, the center of the daisy was cut from Dazzling Diamongs Glimmer Paper from Stampin' Up! (now retired).

Hope you enjoy this fun fold card!

100# White Premium Color Cover Stock by Hammermill: 8-1/2” x 5-1/2”, scored at 4-1/4” (card base)
80# White Premium Color Copy Cover Stock by Hammermill: 4” x 2-1/2” (front stamped piece); scrap for punch
60# White Premium Color Copy Cover Stock by Hammermill: 5” x 3-3/4” (inside)**
Shaded Spruce Card Stock by Stampin’ Up!: 5-1/4” x 4” (2 pieces); scrap for punch
Forever Greenery Designer Series Paper by Stampin’ Up!: 4-1/2” x 3”

* Punches: Small Oval and Scalloped Oval by Stampin’ Up!

* Stamps and Ink:
Social Greetings Clear Stamp Set by Impression Obsession stamped with Onyx Black Versafine Pigment Ink
Swingin’ Monkey by Whipper Snapper Designs, Inc. stamped with Jet Black Archival Ink by Ranger

* Monkey image is colored with Basic Black, Early Espresso and Garden Green Watercolor Pencils and then “painted” with Blender Pen (pencils and pen by Stampin’ Up!)

* Seabed 3D Embossing Folder by Stampin’ Up!

NOTES:

1. Banana on inside of card is an online image downloaded and printed on my computer.

2. I generally use 60# cover stock for computer-generated images and text simply because my printer likes it better than heavier stock.

3. On the video and in the photo above I painted the end of the tail green -- how could I possibly have mistaken that for a leaf?!  In any event, I have gone back and re-colored that portion of the image so the end of this sweet monkey's tail doesn't appear to have gangrene (see photo below)!
